Ieri sera è stato presentato a Francoforte Galaxy S III Mini, il nuovo nato nella famiglia smartphone Galaxy: dotato di Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, processore dual core 1 Ghz, display Super AMOLED da 4 pollici 480×800, fotocamera da 5 megapixel, memoria interna da 8GB, 1GB RAM, scheda microsd.1

Quindi il concorrente diretto dell’iPhone 4?!

The Music Data Science Hackathon challenge will consist in developing an algorithm that predicts listener’s appreciation of songs and artists, based on listeners demographics, listeners words of appreciation, and interviews contained in the EMI Million Interview Dataset.

The winning predictive algorithm will be open-sourced to the data science community

Non è una novità; la novità sono i nomi dei vincitori.
Per coloro che pensano che “questi” sappiano solo sfornare milioni di pezzi di prodotti altrui.

L’idea del connettore reversibile per problemi di usabilità era già in giro nel 2010, ed i problemi relativi li aveva già risolti Erix1 (nei commenti).

This is a new community-driven site that aims to become a comprehensive and authoritative source for web developer documentation. With Web Platform Docs, web professionals will save time and resources by consulting with confidence a single site for current, cross-browser and cross-device coding best practices.

“People in the web community — including browser makers, authoring tool makers, and leading edge developers and designers — have tremendous experience and practical knowledge about the web,” said Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director. “Web Platform Docs is an ambitious project where all of us who are passionate about the web can share knowledge and help one another.”

Sarò io che ho un brutto rapporto con i computer, le mani da minatore (deformazione professionale), e una certa tendenza all’insofferenza, ma l’usabilità dell’iPhone e di TUTTI questi cazzetti da 3″ circa, di qualunque forma, forgia, marca, epoca e modello è una vera merda.

Poi una risoluzione ONU con relative sanzioni dovrebbe essere dedicata al protocollo IMAP ed alle sue implementazioni, alle varianti proprietarie ed ai client di posta che invece del “Re: ” delle RFC mettono “R: ” rendendo il threading impossibile (sì, Bill, sto dicendo a te ed alla tua società di aspirapolvere).

You have to make sure you never confuse the hierarchy that you need for managing complexity with the respect that people deserve. Because that’s where a lot of organizations go off track, confusing respect and hierarchy, and thinking that low on hierarchy means low respect; high on the hierarchy means high respect. So hierarchy is a necessary evil of managing complexity, but it in no way has anything to do with respect that is owed an individual.

If you say that to everyone over and over and over, it allows people in the company to send me an e-mail no matter what their title might be or to come up to me at any time and point out something — a great idea or a great problem or to seek advice or whatever.
